Spotlight

These here are the rest of the photos from our late night photo sesh a couple days ago. Non of the photos were edited, we just invented something really sweet to make the spotlights. I call it macgyver photography.

Couch

Just got my camera back after Jake annihilated it (kidding, but not really), everything is fine now, although the shutter button is weird, but it still works so it's all good.

Being bored as usual we decided to have this photo shoot. There really isn't anything special done to them. Just used the accessory flash from my 35mm Minolta [alternative to buying one for my D60]. They look just as good as if I had a flash for my Nikon. Enjoy.

Jill Greenberg: everyonehateseveryone

Jill Greenberg, one of the best photographers, in my opinion, has recently released a new series called everyonehateseveryone. The lighting like in all of her photos is amazing. All the models look like they have been airbrushed, and you are able to see the strain in their body from these poses. She also has new portrait and fashion photos.

Dazed and Confused : Hedi Slimane

For the January, Youth issue of Dazed & Confused photographer Hedi Slimane shot teenagers chosen right off of the streets of London. The black and white portraits do a great job of conveying the "youth" of London, although they all are some rendition of each other, being that they all bare similarities.

Camera of the Week: Diana F+

I am starting a new segment of The Cat's Ass, camera of the week, where each week I'll showcase a notably awesome camera. The camera of this week is the Diana F+. One of the most popular Lomographic cameras next to the LC-A and Holga. The all plastic camera has been made popular through its lo-fi images and attachment flash, that resembles those used by reporters in the 30's.

The coolest thing about the Diana F+ is the different colors that they come in. Other than the original blue and black, the Diana F+ has four different colors. The all black Blackjack, all white Edelwiess edition, a glow in the dark Diana F+, and just recently all chrome. You can check all these out and other amazing cameras at Lomographic Society International's shop.

35mm Redscale Film

Lomography has released another awesome thing into the world of film, its nothing new, it's just now you can buy it instead of having to do it yourself. With 35 mm Red scale film all your photos have red-yellow-orange hues, but you're wondering HOW? Well usually what you'd do is wind your film upside-down into empty film canister and what happens next is that when you take a picture the red layer of the film gets exposed first giving it the awesome "red-scale" look. I am probably going to try doing it before I buy the film, even though I now I'll screw it up.

Rasterbating

I've been rasterbetating for a while now. It's a good way to get rid of some bad wall space and make awesome pictures even awesome-er. The Rasterbator is a program that rasterizes your pictures into what size you specify it to, I haven't rasterized anything big yet, but I am slowly working my way to a BIG one.
